Feedburner Error Message: The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled

If you received an Feedburner error message above, that means you do not enable the subscription by email. To solve this problem go to the feed feedburner settings and enable the email subscription service at the bottom of the tab page.

Have fun. :)

I am also seeing this error using WordPress 3.2. I’ve activated the email subscription service in my FeedBurner account AND tried the Ping FeedBurner service to make sure I’m using the updated feed. It still doesn’t work. What else can you suggest?

I’m having the same problem. It used to work, but now it doesn’t. I replaced the RSS code and it is working, but the
email link says subscriptions not enabled. I have activated, deactivated and activated again, but it still won’t work.

  3. DeAnna says:

I followed the steps to set up the feedburner email subscription. It is active and I have 13 subscribers.

Today I published a new posting but I did not receive an email notification.

Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions?

I also have the email subscription activated within my Feedburner account. The plugin continues to tell me that it is not activated. I am not sure what else to do. I would very much like people to be able to subscribe and get email updates for our site. Any clues as to what is happening?

  6. I could not get the widget to work either.

So I followed the instructions on the feedburner site and pasted the code into a text widget.

It now appears to be working just fine.

I have the same problem. My rss is working but my email function isn’t anymore.

I activated the email subscription service in my FeedBurner account (under “Publicize”). It still says “The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled” when I try to type an email address into the widget you’ve provided. Am I missing a step somewhere?

    • zourbuth says:

After you enable the Subscription by email in feedburner.com setting, put your feed title name in the widget box.
But, you have to be sure that your email subscription is connected from your site and feedburner.

I think what people may be doing is putting in the name of the feed with spaces, the name should be the prefix that goes after: http://feeds.feedburner.com/
This worked for me, hope it’s helpful!

  12. Jennifer says:

Hi, I am having trouble setting this up. After adding my feed address it still says that is not enabled. Help please!

  13. Jennifer says:

I did this and it still doesnèt work. :( . What else can I try?

  14. Ashley says:

I have activated email subscriptions in Feedburner and entered the following as my email subscription url: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=TheHillHangout However, when I click on the email icon (in my sharing plug-in) to subscribe by email, I get the following error message: The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled.

  15. Haydon says:

I think some people may be entering the url instead of their Feedburner ID. Your Feedburner ID is the bit at the end of the url. i.e. If your url is http://feeds.feedburner.com/My-WebsiteFeed then your ID is: My-WebsiteFeed

Check to make sure you have entered the Feedburner ID into WordPress and not the url.
